Giancarlo Buratti was born in 1959 in Pietrasanta, Tuscany, Italy. His father, who was also a passionate sculptor taught him the first principles and techniques of the art of sculpting. Giancarlo Buratti finished in 1983 his education as sculptor at the Fine Arts Academy of Carrara. After that he worked together with his father, until the latter passed away in 1999. He has made a series of portraits of amongst others, Ronald Reagan and Gorbatchov. Three commisions, which he executed in Florence and Salerno have contributed to his good reputation.
He prefers, in his free work, to combine two great artistic personal favorites: the Art Nouveau and the Figurative Art.
Giancarlo Buratti was elected member of the National Sculpture Society of the United States of America.
